TikToker Kawira left smitten after cop serves her breakfast during Saba Saba

TikTok sensation Kawira, who is widely known on the popular video sharing app for her close-knit friendship with controversial preacher Pastor Kanyari, was among the Gen Zs who turned out in impressive numbers along Thika Road on Monday, July 7, 2025, to mark this year’s Saba Saba protests.

However, while the majority of protesters found themselves caught in clouds of tear gas and soaked in rounds of water cannon bursts, Kawira happened to stumble upon an anti-riot officer who, instead of raising a baton, decided to woo her with an unexpected full breakfast plate comprising sliced bread, eggs, and a hot cup of coffee.

Taken aback by the officer’s generosity in the middle of what was otherwise a battlefield of shouts and sirens, Kawira instantly took to her TikTok page to update her followers.

She revealed that she was not only surprised by the officer’s gesture but also confessed to having developed a sudden crush on him, charmed by his warm demeanour and unfiltered kindness.

At the same time, Kawira openly revealed that the officer fit her perfect ideal of a dream man, saying he was tall, dark and handsome—just as she likes it—with her usual dramatic flair.

“Thank you for the tea, I love you. Are you taken? Tall, dark and handsome—you must be taken. Seriously, guys, I have never met a police officer this amazing. He is giving us bread, eggs and coffee. Are you single or are you taken?” she said.

In the video that has since gone viral, Kawira, who had wrapped a Kenyan flag across her face as a symbolic mask, could be seen deepening the conversation with the officer who was seated casually on a guardrail just a few metres away from the centre of the protest.

She insisted that she genuinely wanted to know more about him, and the officer, who was clearly caught off guard by her boldness, kept giggling shyly and appeared stunned to realise that Kawira was recording the entire exchange.

While handing her the steaming cup of coffee, the officer even offered a gentle toast, asking her to clink their cups together in a symbolic gesture of peace and camaraderie, a sight far removed from the image of stern-faced, gun-toting officers Kenyans have come to expect during such tense demonstrations.

Cops and Politics

As the air of chemistry continued to build between Kawira and the officer, the conversation took an amusing turn when Kawira jokingly said that despite having turned up at the protests as part of the anti-government wave, she now felt compelled to support President Ruto for a second term.

She said that the coffee had swayed her opinions, but the officer, seemingly uninterested in the political banter, was quick to make his stance clear by distancing himself from both slogans.

“Thank you, ‘five more years’, right? Or is it ‘Ruto must go?’” Kawira teased.

“I honestly do not even know what those things you are saying mean,” the officer responded politely.
