Legendary American TV host Steve Harvey will tour Kenya following his meeting with President William Ruto.
Steve Harvey met Ruto at Taylor Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Ruto is in the US for a four-day state visit.
Harvey confirmed that during his meeting with Ruto, he was invited to come to Kenya in September 2024.
“When I met my brother (Ruto), and I know how God works, and he invited me to Kenya and it happens to be September……I will be shooting in Johannesburg but before I do that I will come visit my brother,” Steve Harvey said.

The head of state said the tour of the studios was an inspiration to put more effort and resources into the creative sector of Kenya’s economy.
He added that collaboration and partnership with such institutions is a huge potential for young talented youth to monetize their creativity.
“The Tyler Perry Studios tour was an inspiration to put more effort and resources in the creative sector of our economy. I am encouraged by the huge potential for collaboration and partnership with such institutions that could help our young talented youth to monetize their creativity,” Ruto said.

Steve Harvey’s promise
During the meeting with Ruto, Steve Harvey agreed to come to Kenya in September to interact with the creative industry.
Harvey is expected to return to Kenya in December as the chief guest during the Jamhuri Day celebrations.
During his tour of Taylor Perry studios, Ruto promised more investments in the creative economy. The head of state further apologized to his daughter for declining her request to study film, eight years ago.
“I have seen, I have experienced, I now I know better,” Ruto said.

The President was accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto among other dignitaries, to the Taylor Perry studios.
Ruto was accompanied by content creator-cum comedian Eddie Butita and his two daughters.
Butita revealed that he had discussed with Harvey on ways to improve showbiz in Kenya.
In 2023, President Ruto claimed that Butita was earning more from content creation compared to his take-home as head of state.
