Siaya Senator James Orengo has today morning September 3, 2021 met Gengetone group Mbogi Genje. Back in July 27, 2021 the senator in an unprecedented move, heaped praises at the talented crew prompting the trio to request for an appointment with him. The lawmaker today invited the music group to his office and committed to support them in their future endeavors.

Mbogi Genje wamemuok na wakanipeleka na rieng‘. Our artists play a key role in our society and I will always endeavor to support them. Hawa wagenje ni warena,” Orengo said.

The veteran lawyer, known for his numerous victories in the corridors of justice, is a self-confessed fan of the Umoja-based music group. While attending the Skiza thanksgiving ceremony in Ndakaini, Muranga county, Orengo specifically lauded the group for producing wonderful music.

“Am currently in Ndakaini, Murang’a County for the Skiza thanksgiving ceremony, I quickly remember this group of young Kenyans Mbogi Genje, who are doing a wonderful job. Their latest hit featuring Khaligraph titled Warena is greatly artistic. Music made in Kenya,” Orengo posted.

Having received recognition from the rarest source, the popular boy trio expressed appreciation to the senior counsel for supporting their craft. Speaking to a local daily a month ago, the group members, Smady (Anthony Odhiambo), Guzman( Teddy Ochieng) and Militant Govana (Malaka Yuen), said they were elated by the lawmaker’s revelation.

“Grateful to have communicated to you (Orengo) with our art. Thanks for the kind words, this is inspiring. We’d appreciate if you can accord us sometime to share our vision and upcoming projects mtaani kuna talents mingi support yenu mhesh ndo nguvu yetu. Also pass our love to Baba (Raila Odinga),” the group posted.
