In 2019, rapper Jackson Makini alias Prezzo announced his entry into Kenyan politics through Wiper Party. At the time, Prezzo said that he would use the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party to vie for the Kibera constituency parliamentary seat in this year’s general election.

Two years after the announcement, the rapper seems to have changed his mind not only on the party he wants to use to vie on but also the parliamentary seat he is seeking.

On Monday, the My Gal hitmaker revealed that he had tendered his resignation from the Wiper party and shared a photo of an approved latter he had submitted to Wiper Secretary-General seeking his exit from the party.

The rapper did not, however, reveal why he opted to quit the party but in a previous social media post, he suggested that he was headed to another political outfit.

He made the revelation when announcing his intention to vie for the Kasarani MP seat and not Kibra as previously thought.

Wengi wao wanaenda studio kupiga picha kama wamevaa tai na wamekunja shati kuwafunika macho. Tusiwe vipofu. KASARANI it is wangu (sic)! Na Chama ntawapeleka rieng ila cha msingi…Deadline ni 6th Feb. Chezeni ki nyinyi. Sitawangusha,” Prezzo said.
