Fitness trainer Francis Kiarie Mukui alias Frankie Just Gym caused a storm over his revelation about male instructors monitoring women’s ovulation for better workout exercises.

Speaking during an interview on a local TV station, Frankie revealed that fitness trainers have to be privy to very private information about their female clients including stuff like their menstrual cycle.

“A personal trainer is invested in who you are, has to know your everyday routine, how work is like, what stresses you, even your ovulation he has to like know all that. It is very crucial,” Frankie said.

The interviewers were completely taken aback by Frankie’s revelation and asked him if the ‘erosion’ of personal boundaries in the fitness industry had not put him at loggerheads with husbands whose wives work out at his gym.

Frankie disclosed that some married men had warned him to keep off their wives.

“I have had dudes call me and tell me never to train their wives ever again. Not me being unprofessional but I guess is because they didn’t know about me, then they see social media and they are like, this is the guy who is training you? Not ever again,” Frankie said.

Reactions

Frankie’s shocking revelation appeared to reinforce rumours about fitness trainers getting into many transient sexual relationships with their clients.

Netizens expressed their opinions about the relationship that female clients and male fitness trainers have, with many noting that disclosure of private information like ovulation presents the perfect environment for immoral behaviour to thrive at the gym.

Patricia Kihoro however came out to defend Frankie, saying that people were just thinking the wrong way about the ovulation thing.

In a post on her InstaStories, the singer/songwriter explained that fitness trainers knowing their clients’ ovulation helps in training women better.

“As a gym girlie, it’s honestly laughable that people are taking this the wrong way. He is right. The female menstruation cycle affects how one will show up at the gym on particular weeks/days of the month. This information helps the trainer train you better. Please let’s educate ourselves. The man is right,” Patricia Kihoro wrote.
