France’s Camavinga attends Harvard after World Cup omission
Eduardo Camavinga has been taking part in a different kind of training after being left out of France’s World Cup squad.
The Real Madrid midfielder has taken a short course in the business of entertainment, media and sports at Harvard Business School.

Camavinga, 23, made a 49-minute substitute appearance in the 2022 World Cup final, which France lost on penalties to Argentina.
But while his teammates prepare at their Massachusetts base, Camavinga has been studying five miles away at Harvard.
Camavinga posted pictures of his time at the prestigious American institution alongside a picture of his certificate. The post was commented on by other footballers, including Real teammate Vinicius Junior.
“A few days of learning, listening and growing,” Camavinga wrote.
“Grateful for the experience at Harvard Business School.”
Camavinga has made 29 appearances for France since Didier Deschamps gave him his debut in 2020, most recently coming off the bench in a 2-0 friendly win over Colombia in March.
In a press conference after the announcement of his 2026 World Cup squad, Deschamps explained his decision to leave Camavinga out.
“His season, of course,” said Deschamps, who has won the World Cup as a player and a manager.
“A few injuries as well. And the competition, which is very, very tough. I’m not questioning his potential or what he’s capable of.
“But he’s entitled to be angry with me, I understand that.”
Camavinga, who has won two Champions League titles with Real Madrid, made 43 appearances as they finished with a trophy for the second successive season.
Club-mates Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni will represent France at the World Cup, where they face Senegal in their first match on Tuesday, May 16, 2026.

Camavinga was a surprise exclusion for the global tournament in a list that also saw England’s defensive duo of Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold, his Real Madrid teammate, among those culled from the Three Lions squad.
