Pascal Tokodi gives Abel Mutua his flowers in emotional message
Kenyan actor and musician Pascal Tokodi has publicly celebrated filmmaker Abel Mutua, praising him for his storytelling brilliance and impact on Kenya’s entertainment industry.
The celebrated artist shared his heartfelt tribute to Abel Mutua on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in an Instagram post where he acknowledged Abel’s consistency, creativity, and the inspiration he continues to provide to many in the creative space.

While giving Abel his flowers, Pascal recalled how he sat in his parents’ living room watching Abel on TV creating magic, further adding that it was during those old days that he started admiring Abel’s work.
“I still remember watching you in my parents’ living room, then the day you came to Changez to watch our play……, man, it was one of the most unforgettable moments of my life,” Pascal recalled.
Tokodi thereafter acknowledged how much later his dream of finally working with Abel Mutua came to reality, notably this came after watching Abel at the comfort of his parents’ house, he finally got a chance to work alongside him while shooting a film directed by Philitv titled Makosa ni Yangu and also Mawowowo.
“Years later, getting the chance to create Mawowowo and Makosa ni Yangu with you felt like living a dream,” Pascal noted.
Similarly, Tokodi went ahead and showered Abel with his flowers, addressing him as his elder brother, while he proceeded ahead and thanked him for his guidance throughout his acting career.
“Big bro, receive your flowers while you can still smell them. Thank you for the guidance, the inspiration, and the legacy you continue to build,” said Pascal.
Abel’s remarks on Tokodi’s performance
Worth noting, Pascal’s remarks follow Abel Mutua’s remarks on his performance at a previous production where Pascal was cast for an advertisement lead role.
According to Abel, he had earlier scouted Pascal’s acting capabilities while he was still in high school during a play by Lenana High School, and he immediately knew he would be a force.
Abel, at the time, acknowledged that he had indeed seen him rise to greatness in a very short time, and so when he had an opportunity of working on a piece, he had to have him on board.
“I saw this young chap, @Pascal Tokodi, several years ago, killing a school play at Lenana High School. Immediately, I knew he was going to be a force. I’ve seen him rise to greatness in a very short time. So when I heard that we’d be working together on this piece, I knew that it was going to be [lit]. And the boy did not disappoint!” he wrote.
