Comedian and media personality Steve Maghana, alias Oga Obinnahas, shared a candid reflection on social media after coming across a frustrated direct message (DM) from a fan, using the experience to highlight how quickly people are to judge others without context.

In a statement on Instagram on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Obinna explained that the sender, seemingly upset about not receiving a reply, resorted to insults out of frustration.

He, however, said he understood the reaction, noting that it stemmed from unmet expectations rather than malice.

“Just bumped into this DM, and I felt sad. Why? Coz this is how human beings are. Most of us conclude about others based on our perspective of whatever the matter is; we don’t pause to ask, ‘What if…?

“For example, this dude will probably be my hater if he isn’t already. He has been sending DMs and not getting a response, so ‘FALA WEWE’ is an appropriate reaction based on his frustrations,” Obinna wrote.

The entertainer revealed that he receives overwhelming amounts of calls, texts, WhatsApp messages, and DMs daily, making it impossible to respond to everyone.

He urged fans to be clear and direct in their messages rather than just saying “hi”, which often gets lost in the flood of communication.

“On my end, I get very many calls, texts, WhatsApps, and even DMs on a daily basis, and I had never seen his DM. Secondly, dude wants to say hi till when?? Send the DM and state everything so if by God’s chance I or any other person you are sending a DM to gets to it, they know exactly what to do,” he advised.

Obinna emphasised the importance of empathy and considering multiple perspectives before judging someone harshly. “He never had my perspective. What if hajaona?? What if sio yeye ako na account?? What if sijaandika vizuri?? Mambo ni mingi,” he noted.

Obinna’s rural home

This comes shortly after he broke his silence after photos of his rural home resurfaced online, sparking mixed reactions among Kenyans.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, September 7, 2025, Obinna expressed surprise that a house he built nearly seven years ago had suddenly become the subject of trending conversations and online banter.

“Wueh. A house I built about seven years ago, ndio inatrend saa hii. Bloggers are having a field day, and so are Kenyans. The comments are hilarious. #binadamu,” he wrote.
