Nyako says her visit to Raila’s grave is off after security scare involving a TikToker

TikTok personality Nyako has cancelled her much-anticipated visit to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s grave, citing a security scare involving a TikToker she says has been relentlessly attacking her online and may have followed her to Bondo.

Speaking in a TikTok live on Saturday, November 29, 2025, Nyako, who arrived in Kenya from Germany a few days ago, explained that the incident began when a female TikToker wrote to her in German requesting a meetup.

She said she declined the proposal because she was travelling home, adding that she has become extremely cautious with social media acquaintances due to her past experiences and the prolonged online hostility she has faced.

“A lady had messaged me in the comments section in German asking if we could meet. I told her we could not meet because I was travelling home. I was not being rude, but you all know my story and what I have been through. You never know who might be following you. I just don’t want to be cordial with TikTok people anymore; I’ve had enough,” Nyako said.

The self-proclaimed TikTok president revealed that the situation took a troubling turn when she realised that a TikToker who had repeatedly criticised and verbally attacked her on TikTok was also in Bondo at the same time she was.

She found this coincidence alarming and said it immediately raised concerns about her safety. According to her, the alignment of events felt intentional, prompting her to believe that she could be targeted or monitored.

“The person named Don, whom you all know, bashes me day in and day out, and you think I can meet him? And why are we in Bondo at the same time? That is very strange. I’m not a fool; I have to think ahead. For your information, I am not going to Bondo anymore. I will stay at my uncle’s place because the security there is better. From there, I’ll figure out where to go tomorrow,” Nyako said.

Harassment

Nyako stated that the harassment she has endured on TikTok for months has left her wary of any unexpected interactions, especially from people who have previously shown aggression toward her.

She said she has reached a point where she no longer wants to engage or maintain cordial relations with TikTok users who might have ill intentions.

“You all know how people have harassed me on TikTok. I have had enough; I just want my peace. I also know who Don is associating with on TikTok and what people are trying to do to me, so I cannot take that risk. Even visiting Raila’s grave now is not possible. I have to change all my plans,” she said.

Because of these concerns, she announced that she had completely withdrawn her plan to travel to Raila’s grave.

She, however, indicated that the trip to Raila’s grave might only be possible on a later date when she would be travelling away from the region, but for now, all original plans had been put on hold.

“I am leaving my current location on Monday, and maybe I can visit Raila’s grave while I travel away,” she said.

She expressed the belief that TikTok has become unsafe for her, describing it as a space where she feels targeted and pursued.

She insisted that some individuals have not given up on trying to harm her, which has made her extra vigilant during her stay in Kenya.

As a result, she said she intended to keep her plans private moving forward and would not disclose her whereabouts or itinerary to the public.

“TikTok has become a hunting ground. People are still targeting me, and some want to see me dead. This time I have to be smart. I will not reveal my movements, and I will not tell anyone where I am going,” Nyako said.
