Murugi Munyi claims she does not know how to cook ugali
Digital content creator and influencer Murugi Munyi has revealed her challenges in marriage when it comes to preparing ugali, one of Kenya’s most iconic staple foods.
Speaking candidly in a video shared on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, Murugi revealed that she does not know, nor has she ever learnt, how to prepare ugali in her entire life.
In addition, the influencer also explained that most of the time her husband, Zack Munyi, wants to eat ugali, but she cannot serve it because she lacks the knowledge to cook it.
However, the mother of three admitted that this could change because she has purchased an ugali cooker and plans to learn how to use it.
“I just want the option of being able to cook, and many times my husband would want ugali. I do not know how to cook ugali, I have never cooked ugali in my life, but I am about to learn how to,” she revealed.

Murugi and Zack love life
The two lovebirds first met in 2015 and later got married in 2017.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the couple celebrated eight years of marriage.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Murugi reminisced about their wedding night in 2017, describing how she was both pregnant and exhausted, while Munyi was equally tired but filled with excitement. She pointed out how no one talks about the sheer exhaustion that comes with the wedding day’s events.

Capturing the depth of their bond, Murugi affectionately referred to Munyi as her “Rhino” and her “King”, reaffirming her love and devotion to him.
