Kenyan actress Catherine Kamau alias Kate actress is over the moon after receiving an invitation from the US ambassador to Kenya Her Excellency Ambassador Meg Whitman for a State dinner at the White House.
Taking to her social media page, the mother of two appreciated the US embassy in Nairobi for their efforts and devotion shown towards the growth of the Kenyan creative industry.
“Good morning. This village girl will be attending the STATE DINNER at the White House & a Luncheon at the #TylerPerry studios in Atlanta by invitation from Her Excellency #AmbassadorMegWhitman.” She wrote.
“@usembassynairobi your efforts and commitment towards the growth of the Kenyan creative economy is greatly appreciated. 🇺🇸🇰🇪,” she expressed gratitude.
This isn’t the first time she has been invited to a high-end event, On 26, March 2022, the award-winning actress was the only Kenyan artist who attended the second season of Bridgerton held in Johannesburg South Africa hosted by Netflix.
Ruto’s Tyler Perry Studio visit
Kate’s invitation comes after the Head of State President William Ruto who is in the US for a three-day state tour is expected to visit the studio.
Ruto who is accompanied by content creator cum comedian Eddie Butita is expected to sightsee opportunities within the creative economy as a possible job creation.
“Leaving for the USA today. Thank you His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto for choosing me to accompany you to the United States Of America State Visit hosted by the USA President His Excellency President Joe Biden. The fact that I’m part of the Head of States delegation is a clear sign and we are happy that the creative industry is part of the conversations we are going to have during this trip,” Butita posted.

Tyler Perry Studio (TPS) is an American film production house based in Atlanta Georgia. Founded in 2006, the studio is solely owned by an African-American actor cum filmmaker Tyler Perry and is one of the largest studios in the USA.
He first came to the limelight in 2005 after releasing his first film dubbed “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”.
The multitalented artist was ranked as the sixth highest-paid man in Hollywood by Forbes magazine in 2009. He has also won dire acclamation for his portrayal of Madea.
