Kameme FM’s Muthoni Babytop wins best female radio presenter of the year award

Kameme FM’s Muthoni Wa Kirumba, popularly known as Muthoni Babytop, has been crowned the Female Radio Presenter of the Year at the 2025 Starbrands Awards.
The celebrated broadcaster, who commands a huge following across the Kikuyu airwaves, received the honour during the Starbrands Awards ceremony held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Sarit Centre and Expo in Nairobi.
Muthoni emerged as the top performer in the competitive category, cementing her place as one of the most influential female voices in Kenya’s radio industry.
After receiving the award, she credited her loyal listeners for the recognition, saying the milestone belonged as much to them as it did to her.
In a post she shared on Facebook on Monday, September 15, 2025, she noted that their unwavering support, daily engagement, and trust were the driving forces behind her continued success.
“Congratulations to My Beloved listeners for being Awarded The Best Radio Presenter Of The year 2025!May this well deserved recognition be the beginning of even greater accomplishment in our career journey together. This win Is For You! We keep shining and raising the bar in the industry!

Earlier on Sunday, September 14, 2025, when news broke that she had clinched the award, Muthoni made a moving post reflecting on the milestone.
In her message, she drew from Romans 11:36, stating that all things come from God, exist through Him, and return to Him for glory.
She coupled this with words of gratitude directed at Starbrands East Africa and her supporters, emphasising that the recognition was a shared achievement.
“Romans 11:36 -Declares: For From Him And Through Him And To Him Are All Things. To Him Be Glory Forever! Amen. Starbrands East Africa ..Asante.”
The Starbrands Awards, which celebrate excellence and impact across different industries, saw leading personalities and brands in Kenya recognised for their outstanding contributions.
The event also saw Kameme FM clinch the crown for Top Vernacular Radio Station in the Central region, a victory that added to the gala’s triumphs.

The award triggered a flurry of congratulatory messages across social media, with many fans and colleagues celebrating the recognition.
Among those who joined in was her hubby, popular one-man guitarist Waithaka wa Jane, who expressed his pride in her accomplishment.
Through a post on Facebook, he reaffirmed his love for her while also sharing his excitement at the win.
To further emphasise the achievement, he reposted a photo confirming that she had indeed clinched the Female Radio Presenter of the Year title, making it clear that the recognition was as authentic as it was well deserved.
“Congratulations I’m proud of you ,” Waithaka wrote.
