A section of netizens have showered with praises comedian cum content creator Eddie Butita moments after meeting legendary host Steve Harvey.

Butita, who accompanied President William Ruto during his three-day US tour visit, took to his social media account and shared memorable photos of him with Steve Harvey at Tyler Perry Studios.

Stunned Butita thanked Ruto for his noble connection. He disclosed that meeting Steve Harvey has been his dream for the past 14 years.

“I saw you on Youtube” (are) words from Steve Harvey. Thank you Mr President for this honourable connection, meeting Steve Harvey Has been a dream for the past 14 years today it has become a reality. We had great conversations on how to equip and train talents for business success in showbiz it is show and Business and I’m happy our creatives are factored in these conversations,” he wrote.

Comedy Career

The Stage Presence Media (SPM) founder and CEO came to the limelight after he made his first appearance at the then-popular comic TV show dubbed Churchill Show.

He has made his name in the entertainment industry ever since. Apart from doing stand-up comedy, Butita is an actor, scriptwriter, director, and theatre producer.

The stand-up comedian has made a name for himself in local entertainment and internationally after becoming the first Kenyan to write and direct a Netflix Swahili comedy film.

In 2021, Butita through his social media account updated his fans about the historical project he had done with Netflix.

“I have always wanted to be on Netflix, but this year God made it a reality”.

“I first was reached out to be the first Netflix Swahili Comedy Writer and Director. For the past few months, I wrote and directed the Swahili Version of Upshaws created by Wanda Sykes, it was a great experience. The early mornings and late nights together with a team of talented professionals from Hiventy Africa, We successfully brought the script to life and it’s now streaming on Netflix,” he wrote.
