Diana Marua responds to claims she’s hard to deal with

Content creator Diana Marua has opened up about being labelled ‘difficult’ by people close to her. The mother of three, who is married to singer Kevin Bahati, admitted that she often hears such remarks but insists her personality is a result of her upbringing and life experiences.
Speaking candidly on her YouTube channel, posted on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Diana said she doesn’t fully understand why people perceive her that way.
“People very close to me say I’m difficult to deal with. How? I don’t know. There is a specific way I like to do things, and how I prefer my things done,” she explained.
According to her, having a clear sense of how she likes things handled has often been misinterpreted as being hard or demanding.
A tough upbringing shaped her personality
Diana went on to reflect on how her childhood and upbringing may have influenced her character. Growing up, she says, was neither easy nor comfortable.
“Maybe it’s just my upbringing; it was tough. That’s the best way I know how to deal, and some people don’t like it,” she revealed.
The YouTuber, who has built a name for herself as one of Kenya’s most followed digital influencers, admitted that while her way of handling things may not sit well with everyone, it is the only way she knows how to navigate life. For her, order and structure are not just preferences but necessities that bring her peace and stability.
Her remarks come at a time when she has been in the spotlight, not just as Bahati’s wife, but as a brand on her own. Diana has often been described as outspoken and assertive. Qualities that some admire while others view as intimidating. By opening up, she offered her fans a glimpse into the struggles of balancing personal identity with public perception.

Despite the criticism, Diana maintained that she will continue to be herself. She emphasised that she cannot change her personality just to please others, especially because it stems from deep-rooted life experiences.
Diana remains firm that her approach to life has helped her thrive in the tough entertainment industry and in managing her family.
