What do you know about the infamous quote; “Old flames die hard!”
Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz is still singing about his ex-lover and former Miss Tanzania Wema Sepetu ‘three serious relationships’ later.
In one of his latest songs ‘Nawaza’ the father of four reminisces about his old romance with Wema. He wonders what would have been the outcome had he settled with her.
“Nawaza kama ningekuwa na Wema sepetu hadi leo. Sijui ningekua nishafulia, ama zaidi maendeleo?” he quipes.
Loosely translated as; “(I wonder if I was still with Wema Sepetu today, would I really be thriving or I would be long gone?)”
In a previous song, he admitted that he still misses the beauty queen with whom he once had a blood covenant.
Wema and Diamond’s split was occasioned by the latter’s infidelity in a highly publicised cheating scandal.
Diamond cheated on Wema with his Ugandan baby mama Zari Hassan and it wasn’t long until she conceived.
While pregnant with their second child, Diamond cheated on Zari with Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto who also conceived and that’s how Zari called it quits. After all, ‘you lose them how you get them’.
Later Diamond hooked up with Kenyan Internet personality cum singer Tanasha Donna but the two broke up soon after Tanasha gave birth.
With Diamond’s history of messy love life, you might question whether he is deserving of another chance with the only popular ex-lover he didn’t sire a baby with.
But that would be to rain on the singer’s parade and who knows how many more of those songs there will be?
