Content creator Vindee explains why he temporarily blocked his mother
Content creator Vindee has revealed that he temporarily blocked his mother to get some space after one of his videos went viral.
Vindee said in an interview on Monday, November 18, 2025, that one of his videos reached 400,000 views, and his mother’s reaction added stress to his life.

The pressure of going viral
Vindee described how content creators often face stress when their work goes viral. He said that when his mother saw his success, people around her reacted strongly, expecting him to share money or support her financially.
“Kitu content creators wengi hupitia. Vile nakuelezea, nitafeel hiyo guilt mama yangu ameniomba pesa na nikamwambia sina. But huko, amekua gas lit na watu around her. Kijana wako akona pesa. Wanaona umepiga advert wanaona uko na pesa na uko chini,” he said. Vindee added that this kind of pressure can affect creators deeply, sometimes leading them to isolate themselves temporarily.
He explained that the constant expectations, comments, and calls can be overwhelming. “Unapata uko na stress hadi unajifungia kwa nyumba week mzima unaanza kupost video za kitambo,” Vindee said.
He emphasised that his decision to block his mother was not out of anger but as a way to protect his mental health and focus on his work. Vindee also said that he unblocked his mother later, but the brief break helped him regain his composure and manage the stress of viral attention.
Vindee’s experience shows a common challenge for content creators who suddenly gain visibility. While going viral can bring success, it also brings pressure from family, friends, and the public. Vindee’s story shows that sometimes setting boundaries, even with close family members, is necessary for personal well-being.
