Chimano begs Bien to call him after several failed attempts

Sauti Sol band member Willis Chimano has made a heartfelt plea to fellow bandmate Bien-Aimé Baraza, asking him to return his calls after what appears to be several failed attempts to reconnect.
Chimano made his appeal during an interview with a digital media platform that focuses on African culture and stories, an episode that was released on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
“Bien, call me, I know we were band mates before we’ve been together for years. Just call me, I’ve been trying to hit you up, Bien. Call me, I thought we were brothers. We have been together since high school, come on, call me Bien,” Chimano called out.
The multi-talented singer did not immediately explain why Bien was not picking up his calls.
Chimano, known for his vibrant energy and unique voice, took to social media with a subtle yet emotional message directed at Bien. While he did not reveal the cause of their apparent distance, his tone hinted at unresolved issues or a longing to restore their bond.
Sauti Sol final bow
Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol held their final performance together, marking the end of an era for one of the country’s iconic music groups in December 2023.
At the time of their hiatus, it had been 17 years of pure entertainment for Kenya and the world from the group. Afterwards, the four band members went their separate ways in what they say is a music hiatus.
But when the group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2023, Chimano generally chose to step away from the public eye. While revealing during the interview that the time off became a period of deep reflection, marked by therapy, silence, and self-work.
“I have been resting, restoring, replenishing, and taking some time out for myself and to figure out how to work this new chapter of my life,” he says. “I didn’t want to go back immediately into the rat race of what it all was. I just wanted to take a step back, because the band [had] been together since high school,” Chimano said.
Sauti Sol thrilled their fans in a sold-out concert, the Sol Fest, which went down in Nairobi on November 2 and November 4, 2023.
