Various celebrity families grew a few babies bigger in 2023!
Throughout the year, various personalities and politicians welcomed newborns, some of which were highly anticipated and some which came as a delightful surprise. More seasoned parents like Vera Sidika, gave their first kids some siblings.
Meet the bundles of joy who arrived in the spotlight in 2023;
Lynne Njihia
Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi’s girlfriend Lynne welcomed their rainbow baby in August 2023.
Through their respective Instagram pages, the couple shared their excitement with their followers with the proud father captioning his post, ‘Princess Kyla Omondi’ revealing the charming name they had chosen for their newborn.
Their rainbow baby (a child born after a miscarriage) was born a little over a year after Lynne suffered a tragic miscarriage in November 2022.
Vera Sidika
Months after welcoming their first baby, daughter Asia, Vera Sidika and Brown Mauzo added another member to their family, a son named Prince Ice Brown in March 2023.
Unlike the firstborn, the mom of two concealed the news until later when she celebrated his seventh month in October and unveiled his face in a dramatic turn of events.
Amber Ray
Socialite Faith Makau alias Amber Ray welcomed her daughter with her lover businessman Kennedy Rapudo in May.
Amber shared the news in an update on her Instagram writing;
“About the saying ‘you only live once “I’m starting to wonder how true that is! Could it be true that one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day? I may have a few more unanswered questions, but as for now… My man is with me as the angel of my house and I’m a brand new mummy! Welcome home baby A…I have felt you all this life and now I get to see you, hear you and touch you…IT’S A BRAND NEW LIFE 🙌🏾 A life of many lives,” she wrote.
The newborn became Amber and Rapudo’s first child together and their second child altogether as both have kids (a son and a daughter respectively) from previous relationships.
The two lovebirds dated for at least four months before their engagement in November and pregnancy shortly after.
Zia Bett
After revealing they were expecting in late 2022, rapper Nyamari Ongegu alias Nyashinski and his wife Zia Bett welcomed their second child together in March 2023.
The artiste took to social media platforms with a gratitude message but did not share any more information concerning the gender or the newborn’s name.
“Thank you, God, for the most precious gift,” the Mungu Pekee crooner wrote on his X account.
The news about the newborn came barely months after the couple tied the knot in a private wedding on December 10, 2022.
Lesuuda Naisula
In July, Samburu Member of Parliament Naisula Josephine Lesuuda welcomed her second child.
The lawmaker revealed her bundle of joy was named Zuri Chebet Naramat Koitaba.
“Good News!! Our second baby is here. We thank God! We welcomed baby Zuri Chebet Naramat Koitaba at 9.32 am today. Her name means; Zuri- our good in everything, our prayer for her. Chebet – born during the day, and Naramat – will nurture/take care of things,” the mother of two stated.
Jamal Rohosafi’s girlfriend
Businessman Jamal Marlow popularly known as Jimal Rohosafi welcomed a daughter with his lover Wangari Thiong’o in March 2023.
The news broke after Wangari shared a photo of herself, Jamal, and their newborn Amal J Ibrahim.
This was after the couple unveiled their relationship on Valentine’s Day.
“Nilisema nitapenda after three years na ni kama imeenda haraka,” (I said I would fall in love after three years but it seems time has moved fast), Jamal wrote.
