In 2024, Bolo rose to fame as one of the most celebrated fashion designers in the country. However, his newfound celebrity status sparked controversy as many netizens began questioning his source of income, with some speculating that he is involved in a cult.
Bolo, on the night of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, took to his Instagram page and addressed rumours linking his wealth and flashy lifestyle to the Illuminati and money laundering.
He strongly responded to critics accusing him of being involved in the Illuminati, following his emotional farewell to his wife, Mueni, who has relocated to China for several months.
In the same breath, he used the moment to call out those who have been spreading falsehoods and linking their sacrifices to dark affiliations.
He said the decision for his wife to go to China was purely out of shared vision and sacrifice, noting that while she had to endure the pain of being away from family, their goal was to build a better future together.
“Now look at me saying goodbye as she leaves for China for months, just so we can be in a better place. Then someone somewhere is busy saying it is the Illuminati. It is okay,” Bolo wrote.
Bolo, who has openly documented the challenges and breakthroughs of building his fashion brand from the ground up, said such accusations only show how quickly people are to misjudge the sacrifices others make.
He asked fans and followers to pray for his wife and wish her safe skies as she begins a new chapter abroad.
