Bishop Kiengei addresses claims of barring politicians from Kaluma Boy’s thanksgiving
By Steve Ireri, October 3, 2025Bishop Ben Kiengei has clarified that politicians will not be barred from attending TikToker Vincent Kaluma, popularly known as Kaluma Boy’s, Thanksgiving event at his Jesus Compassion Ministries (JCM) Church on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Speaking during a radio call with Kameme FM presenter Muthoni Baby Top on Friday, October 3, 2025, the bishop revealed that while politicians are welcome, they will be asked to watch the event from the Sunday school area.
He added that a large screen will be mounted to ensure they can follow proceedings without disrupting the young congregation.
“And these Gen Zs who are attending the thanksgiving with Kaluma Boy do not want a lot of politics. It is not that politicians have been barred from attending, but they will watch the event from the Sunday school area. We will mount a huge screen there for them,” Kiengei said.
The bishop noted that Generation Z attendees, who form the bulk of Kaluma Boy’s supporters, prefer an event that is largely free of political undertones.
He added that the church has already issued a statement advising congregants that Sunday school children should not attend on the day of the Thanksgiving, citing the expected size of the gathering.
“We have also already issued a statement to our congregants that Sunday school children should not come to church that day. This is because I know the event will be very big,” Kiengei added.

Bishop Kiengei further revealed that he expects some supporters may arrive on Saturday, a day before the official event, highlighting the anticipated enthusiasm and scale of the turnout.
“Even now, as we speak, I know that some people have already indicated they will arrive tomorrow, Saturday, even though the event is on Sunday,” he shared.
The development came just days after Kaluma Boy confirmed that the Thanksgiving event would commence at 9 a.m.
In a Facebook post on Monday, September 29, 2025, he noted that the celebration aims to bring together Kenyans who supported him during his father’s fundraiser held on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
“Kenyan for Kenyan TikTokers. Gen Zs are occupying JCM Church for Thanksgiving. October 5, 2025. Asante sana, Bishop Ben Kiengei and Rev Joy Benson. 9 am,” the poster Kaluma shared read.
That event saw hundreds of young Kenyans, primarily TikTokers and members of Generation Z, converge on his village to contribute funds and offer moral support.
