Kenyan artiste Esther Akoth alias Akothee has defended her controversial wardrobe saying she is well aware of it.

Unlike women her age, Akothee, who recently clocked 40, continues to cultivate a risqué style with bold boundary-pushing looks that sometimes miss the mark.

Taking to social media, the mother of five says she knows it could be sending a bad public image but her recent look in a bikini was inspired by the weather and the environment.

She added that she is proud of her skin.

“Yes, I know it’s bad manners to walk naked at the age of 40.. but aiii, the body and the silky skin, not to forget about the environment and the weather, CAL POLIS or pole Bas, it’s summer time,” she wrote.

In a past revelation, Akothee noted that her mother is still concerned over her wild style, unlike her dad who remains to be her number one fan.

“My daddy is my number one fan, after my mum resisted for years, she finally joined, I thank God for my supportive parents, my mum. Still have issues with my dress code, but this time round she did not utter a word, maybe she is tired…” the singer wrote.
