Kenyan car reviewer and YouTuber 2 Mbili has issued a heartfelt message of appreciation to Tanzanian influencer Chief Godlove after the latter gifted him a considerable sum of money and graciously allowed him to spend time with him in Tanzania on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

In a post where he displayed the US dollars he had received from Godlove on Friday, April 11, 2025, 2 Mbili lauded the self-proclaimed billionaire, saying he had received a huge amount from him and had been welcomed so warmly that he felt it might be time for him to relocate to Tanzania and reside there permanently.

According to him, Godlove, who enjoys a close friendship with President Samia Suluhu, should consider initiating conversations with the head of state so that he may be granted citizenship in the Swahili-speaking nation.

Asante sana Chief Godlove kwa hela nyingi hizi… Ongea sasa na Mama Samia anipe uraia. Miaka 32 nikiwa tu Mkenya. Ni muda wa kubadilisha. Anyway, guys, head over to my channel and enjoy my first visit to Chief’s episode,” he shared.

Furthermore, 2 Mbili insisted that he had drawn immense inspiration from Godlove and remarked that he is now contemplating vying for a Member of County Assembly seat in the country.

He maintained that he was in disbelief that the millionaire, who also commands a significant presence on social media, had accepted the invitation to appear on his YouTube channel and even went as far as allowing him to tour his Tanzanian mansion.

On that note, he asserted that he would now be making regular visits to the country and even disclosed that he had picked up the Swahili accent. He added that he was now contemplating which among the country’s top football teams he should support.

“Yaani jana nilikutana na Chief, saa hii nahisi sijui ni kama niko wapi. Yaani saa hii hata naskia kusimama MCA kwa sababu ya Chief Godlove. Kama haya ndiyo mambo yako, basi Tanzania niko kila wiki. Saa hii ameniuzia mpaka accent, saa hii nimebaki kuchagua team, sijui nishabikie Yanga ama Simba.”

At the end of the Instagram clip, 2 Mbili is heard affirming that he had confirmed that Godlove was indeed a God-fearing man, further dispelling the claims that had been previously circulated about the millionaire’s wealth having suspicious origins.

Mambo ya kwako, Chief eei. Upepo ya Tanzania tena inajua kuiba pesa. Asante sana, Chief, you have shown me that you love God.”

Show-off trolls

2 Mbili’s hangout with Godlove comes just two years after he faced significant backlash from Kenyans on TikTok for washing one of his Range Rover vehicles with Hennessy, one of the world’s most expensive cognacs.

In the controversial clip, Godlove was seen taking bottle after bottle of the premium liquor and pouring it over the car’s entire exterior, including its tyres, leaving a majority of Kenyan viewers commenting on the video and hurling criticism in his direction.

The clip also featured him boasting about his immense wealth and the luxurious cars he owns, whilst defending his actions by claiming he was washing the car with the costly drink because alcohol holds no value to him.

“Come closer and let me show you something strange. This is Hennessy. There are people who find this to be such an important thing to them, very expensive, but to me this is trash. Why do I say this? You will be amazed to see it, but to me, it is an ordinary thing. This is a Hennessy bottle. It is still sealed, and I will open it for you. It’s a bit hard. Alcoholics are the ones who know how to open it; for me, it is a little bit difficult.”

He insisted that he was having difficulty opening the bottle because he had never handled one before, as, to him, alcohol—no matter how expensive—is not valuable, nor does it make someone fashionable in any way.

“I need 20 guys (around me) who believe in themselves, guys who don’t see fashionable clothes as an important part of their lives, who don’t see alcohol as an important part of their lives, who don’t consider liabilities such as good-looking beds to be important… You should not see things like these as very important things. The most important things are to have money and a mindset. You may have money but have a poverty mindset—believing you are poor—or possess a childish mentality which renders you ignorant and foolish,” added Godlove.

However, the influencer was himself left stunned when his comment section was flooded with backlash, as some questioned why he would pour out an expensive drink simply to illustrate that alcohol is not of value, while others mocked him, pointing out that the Hennessy he used was not even the XO make, which is in fact the most expensive.

Here are some of the comments from back then:

@lucky254 said, “Bro, hizo ni VS bana, si XO 😂.”

@nduthiking commented, “Alafu, unatuambia ni trash ukinyunyizia gari? Pesa ikikuchanganya, unaishia kupotea akili.”

@rayz_ke added, “Ndio kusema Hennessy VS ndio trash? Kwani XO, angeimwaga na tank?”
