Jubilee Party’s Deputy Organising Secretary Pauline Njoroge, on Friday, September 26, 2025, praised former and retired President His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta even as Jubilee Party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) kicked off in Nairobi.

Through her X handle, Njoroge cryptically said the gathering belonged to the former Head of State.

“It’s Uhuru’s Day! Today, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta officially takes charge of the Jubilee Party, charting the way forward after nearly two and a half years of relentless battles that followed an attempted illegal takeover of the party,” she wrote.

The NDC, which attracted party delegates and supporters from across the country, is being closely watched as Kenyatta prepares to address members on the way forward.

Jubilee, once Kenya’s ruling party, has endured leadership wrangles and political turbulence in the wake of the 2022 General Election.

All attention is now on how Kenyatta will steer the party back into national conversation, with insiders suggesting that he intends to stamp his authority and silence doubters who had predicted the party’s collapse.

Possible Matiang’i endorsement

Speculation is also mounting that the party could use the event to endorse former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i as its preferred presidential flag bearer for the 2027 General Election.

While no official statement has been made, reports indicate that Matiang’i has been quietly engaging Jubilee loyalists behind the scenes.

For Pauline Njoroge, however, Friday’s focus remained on the former President.

“All attention is now on his address at the Jubilee Party Special NDC this morning, as members and supporters look forward to his guidance and renewed direction for the party,” she added.

Her remarks quickly went viral, with Jubilee supporters amplifying her message and rallying behind the former Head of State.

Political analysts now say the NDC could mark a turning point for Jubilee, positioning Kenyatta once again as a central figure in shaping the opposition’s future ahead of the 2027 elections.
