Super Metro issues statement after accident along Thika Road

Super Metro Sacco has issued a statement following an accident involving one of their buses along Thika Road at the Jomoko area on the morning of Saturday, March 29, 2025.
In a statement, the bus sacco detailed that no casualties or injuries were reported from the incident.
The company states that preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by a white saloon car, which was overloaded with jerrycans of Muratina.
Super Metro explained that the aforementioned vehicle carelessly swerved across the road colliding with the side of their bus, forcing the bus driver to evade promptly.
However, the driver’s efforts to avoid further collision were rendered futile as the bus veered off the road and landed in a ditch.

The company has since acknowledged their cooperation with the police as they investigate circumstances surrounding the incident.
“The incident was promptly reported to the authorities and Thika Police Station is currently handling the matter. We urge anyone seeking official details about the incident to direct inquiries to Thika Police Station for accurate and updated information,” the company added.
Additionally, the bus sacco reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of road safety and adherence to traffic regulations, assuring that the safety of their passengers, drivers and other road users is their top priority.
“We thank the public for their understanding and continued support as we work to ensure safe and reliable transportation services across Kenya,” they added.
The latest incident comes amid a publicised scrutiny over the sacco’s conduct and operations after a recent suspension over an incident where a bus tout threw out a passenger after a row over fare, killing the passenger on the spot.
The suspension was, however, shortlived after the Transport Licensing and Appeals Board lifted the suspension, allowing the bus sacco to continue operations.
