Sunday blackout to affect 2 counties

Kenya Power has announced a planned blackout that will affect parts of Nakuru and Kakamega counties on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

The utility company cited routine network maintenance as the reason for the planned interruption.

“Good Evening. The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow (21st July 2024). The interruption is part of network maintenance.”

In Nakuru County, the areas affected will include parts of the Industrial Area, Shabab, Kaptembwa, Koinange, Kenlands, Nakuru West, Kibe House, Mkarafuu, Check Point, Ngei, Kolen Estate, and adjacent customers. The power outage in these areas will occur from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

“Parts of Nakuru County Area: Shabab, Kaptembwa Date: Sunday 21.07.2024 Time: 8.00 AM – 4.00 PM Part of Industrial Area, Shabab, Kaptembwa, Koinange, Kenlands, Nakuru West, Kibe House, Mkarafuu, Check Point, Ngei, Kolen Est & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power announced.

In Kakamega County, the affected areas will include Mumias Town, Shibale, Mumias Market, Lukoye Market, Mumias Level 4 Hospital, St. Peters Secondary, St. Mary’s Hospital, Switswiswi, Bulanda, Mumias KIDS Centre, CAMCON, and adjacent customers. The power outage in these areas will occur from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“Parts of Kakamega County Area: Mumias Town Date: Sunday 21.07.2024 Time: 9.00 AM – 5.00 PM Mumias Town, Shibale, Mkt, Lukoye Mkt, Mumias Level 4 Hosp, St. Peters Sec, St. Mary’s Hosp, Switswiswi, Bulanda, Mumias KIDS Centre, CAMCON & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power stated.
