Nicah praises Dr Ofweneke’s new wife, calls her wonderful stepmom

Gospel singer Nicah has praised her ex-husband Dr Ofweneke’s new wife as a wonderful stepmom as their children prepare to spend a week at their father’s home.
Nicah shared a video of the children getting ready to leave for their dad’s place. She accompanied the video with a message praising the woman for being part of their children’s lives.
“When God blesses you with a wonderful step mom!!” Nicah said on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
In the video, Nicah was seen talking to the children as they prepared to leave for their father’s home. She noted that they looked good and asked them how long they would be staying with their dad. The children confirmed that they would be spending a week there.
“Na si mumeng’ara. You are going to your dad’s. You are going for how long? A week? Hamtanimiss? What am I supposed to be doing?” Nicah said.
Children prepare for a week away
Nicah then asked the children who they would be with during their stay at their father’s home. The children responded by referring to the new wife as Mom Dee. Her response showed that she was aware of the relationship the children have with their stepmother.
“Mom Dee,” the children said.
Nicah’s message comes as she and Dr Ofweneke continue to co-parent their children after their relationship ended. The singer has previously spoken positively about the role Dr Ofweneke plays in the lives of their two children. She has also publicly appreciated his presence as a father.
In the past, Nicah praised Dr Ofweneke while celebrating the graduation of their second daughter. She shared a photo of herself, the comedian and TV host, and their two daughters at the event. She thanked him for being present and loving towards their children.
“Congratulations, Debbie, on your big day!! Daddy, Mommy and your big sister are so proud of you. @drofweneke thank you for being a present and loving Dad; may our good Lord bless you. #Jesusgurl #coparentingdoneright,” Nicah said.
The children are set to spend a week with their dad, with Nicah jokingly asking what she would do while they were away. Her message also showed that she welcomed the children’s relationship with their stepmother and described her as a blessing in their lives.
