Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in parts of three counties on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance.

According to a notice issued by Kenya Power on Tuesday evening, August 18, 2026, customers in selected areas of Nandi, Bungoma and Nyeri counties will experience temporary electricity interruptions at different times during the day.

The company said the planned outages are necessary to facilitate maintenance work and other activities on the power network.

“Good evening, please find areas affected by planned power interruption dated tomorrow, 19.08.2026,” Kenya Power announced.

Here are some of the areas set to be affected by the planned blackout.

Nandi County

In Nandi County, customers in Tindiret and Mbogo Valley will experience an interruption from 9:30am to 3:00pm.

The affected areas include Sarwat, Tinderet, Mbogo Valley, Safaricom Boosters and adjacent customers.

Another interruption has been scheduled in Terige and Kilibwoni from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The planned interruptions will affect selected areas rather than entire counties, with the duration varying depending on the location and scheduled maintenance activity.

Customers are advised to treat the stated restoration times as estimates, as power supply may be restored earlier or later depending on the progress of the scheduled works.

Kenya Power regularly announces planned power interruptions to allow customers to prepare for temporary loss of electricity while maintenance and improvement works are undertaken.
