Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has warned KSCE candidates and teachers of getting into exam rooms with large sums of money.

Speaking while in Murang’a county today morning, Magoha expressed concern that some students are being found with large sums of money that he says can compromise those overseeing the exams.

Magoha said some of the students who have been found with the cash have reasons best known to themselves on why they are doing so.

“Let us ensure that they (students) are not holding large amounts of money in their pockets. We were able to track some students who had unnecessary large amounts of money in their pockets for reasons which were best known to them,” Magoha said.

Police officers have now been asked to check the exam centre managers who also carry lots of cash.

The orders by Magoha come after a school principal was arrested in Isiolo after a number of phones were captured in communication with outsiders during the exams.

He pardoned two students who were also caught with mobile phones a few minutes before getting into the exam room.

In Busia, a man was arrested after impersonating his father while in Kisii a 20-year-old Kisii University Student was caught impersonating another candidate.
