Six workers buried alive while digging water trench in Kirinyaga

Six well workers were on Monday, August 30, buried alive.

The six were digging a water trench in Kiandieri, Kirinyaga Central in Kirinyaga County.

Witnesses and police officers say that the rescue mission is ongoing with four already removed from the soil heap by Kirinyaga County rescue team. One person has passed on.

Detail of what caused the incident have not been revealed. Jim Njoka the Kirinyaga County Commissioner said that everything was being done in order to save everyone.

“The rescue mission is ongoing and we shall give an update with time,” said Njoka.
