Simiyu Robinson Wanjala tops in KCSE as CS Magoha releases exams results

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has released the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE) results. 

Simiyu Robinson Wanjala from Muranga High School tops in the examinations followed by Wasonga Allan Udoma from Agoro Sare High School. The third student is Sharon Chepngeno Terer.

Some 747, 121 candidates sat for the examinations which run between March 26 and April 21, 2021. 839 candidates scored A plain.

While addressing the press at Mtihani House in Nairobi, Magoha credited fellow government officials for the success of the exercise carried out amid challenges occasioned by the pandemic. 

Magoha thanked president Uhuru Kenyatta for the guidance he provided during the entire examination period. 

“I thank Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiangi and ICT CS Joe Mucheru for their help. For five years, the three of us have run a credible multisectoral examinations,” Magoha said. 

According to Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) CEO Dr Mercy Karogo, 10,943 supervisors, 42, 974 invigilators and 2,634 drivers among other 286,901 field officials contracted by the (KNEC) made the examination process successful.
