COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has, jokingly, urged residents of Sugoi village in Eldoret where Deputy President William Ruto comes from to cut down trees in order to avert a crisis after August 9 polls.

Atwoli told neighbours of the Deputy President to cut down all trees to prevent him (Ruto) from committing suicide after losing elections in August.

“Cut down all trees. Let no tree be available as he might commit suicide on the evening of August 9. Cut down the trees,” he said referring to Ruto.

Speaking in Mombasa, Atwoli maintained that Ruto will be accorded a humiliating defeat by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

Odinga has teamed up with various leaders among them governours and Cabinet Secretaries to counter Ruto who has often been castigated for conducting premature campaigns against the wishes of his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Kenyatta on the other hand is said to be teaming up with Odinga in the Azimio la Umoja political outfit to further ease Odinga’s ability to beat Ruto in the upcoming polls.

Both Ruto and Odinga have been making inroads across the country selling their manifesto to Kenyans with hopes that the over 19 million voters will support their bid.
