PHOTOS: Uhuru graces horse racing season finale at Ngong Racecourse

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta made a notable appearance at the Ngong Racecourse on Sunday, July 27, 2025, where he joined hundreds of racing enthusiasts to mark the grand finale of the 2024–2025 horse racing season.
The event offered a mix of thrilling races, fashion, entertainment, and celebration, drawing a colourful crowd to one of Kenya’s most iconic sporting venues.
The Office of the 4th President confirmed Uhuru’s presence at the event through a statement posted on social media, noting that he had joined fans at the racecourse to celebrate the champions of the 2024–2025 season.

“Former President Uhuru Kenyatta today joined racing enthusiasts at the Ngong Racecourse to celebrate the champions of the 2024–2025 season. The event also featured the thrilling final race of the season, marking a memorable close to the racing calendar,” the office of the fourth president wrote on X.
The occasion also featured the final race of the calendar, capping months of action on the turf with a show of speed, power, and sportsmanship.

Photos from the day captured the former president in a relaxed and cheerful mood.
He was seen posing for pictures with fans and warmly greeting attendees, including children, elders, and other guests.
Dressed in casual attire and a cap, Uhuru walked around parts of the venue, smiling and engaging with the crowd.
His presence added a ceremonial flair to the day and was warmly received by those present.

The Ngong Racecourse, which has served as the home of horse racing in Kenya since 1954, hosted the day’s races from noon until the late afternoon.
The finale, which was open to the public, also included a lifestyle market, food and drinks stalls, live entertainment, and an official after-party, according to event promotional material shared in advance.
