The National Assembly has approved 15 nominees for appointment to five Constituency Committees of the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).

The approval took place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, following a report by the Committee on National Government Constituencies Development Fund.

The House adopted the report laid on the Table of the House on Wednesday, 6th August 2025.

“Pursuant to the provisions of section 43(4) of the National Government Constituency Development Fund Act, Cap 414A, and paragraphs 5(2) and (10) of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Regulations, 2016, the House approves the list of nominees for appointment to the following five Constituency Committees of the NG-CDF,” the order paper stated.

The nominees will join committees in Isiolo South, Lungalunga, Kuria West, Homa Bay Town, and Kitui South constituencies.

In Isiolo South, Kadar Osman Ibrahim and Muktar Hassan Ali were nominated as male adult representatives, while Mariam Huka Sama and Biftu Hassan Bure will serve as female adult representatives. Halkano Huka Hache was nominated to represent persons living with disabilities.

Lunga Lunga received one nominee, Salimu Bakari Boi, representing people living with disabilities.

Kuria West had the largest number of nominees, with seven appointments across the three categories. “The House approves the list of nominees in compliance with the NG-CDF Act and Regulations to fill governance gaps in constituency committees,” the statement added.

Silas Odero Muta was nominated as the person with disabilities representative for Homa Bay Town, while Timothy Kamwila Muasya was nominated as the male adult representative for Kitui South.

Earlier this year, on 5 March, the National Assembly approved nominees for 100 Constituency Committees to fill a governance gap after the expiry of previous committees’ mandates. The remaining constituencies were urged to submit their nominations for vetting and approval.

This approval is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen NG-CDF governance across the country.
