The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has cautioned recruitment panels against engaging in malpractice ahead of the nationwide exercise to enlist 10,000 police constables scheduled for October 3–9, 2025.

During a joint briefing held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Administration Police College, Embakasi “A” Campus, Commission Chairperson Amani Komora underscored the importance of transparency and fairness in the upcoming recruitment.

According to a statement shared on social media by NPSC on Wednesday, October 1, Komora emphasised that the joint approach and staggering of the exercise are designed to enhance efficiency and credibility.

“As the Commission prepares for the recruitment of 10,000 police constables scheduled for 3rd to 9th October, 2025, joint recruitment panels convened today at the Administration Police College, Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, for a comprehensive briefing. Commission Chairperson Dr. Amani Komora highlighted the importance of transparency and fairness throughout the exercise. He noted that the joint approach and staggering of the recruitment exercise is designed to ensure efficiency and credibility,” NPSC stated.

Earlier, the NPSC released an updated list of recruitment centres and dates for the ongoing exercise to enlist police constables.

Public confidence

The statement further noted that Vice Chairperson Collette Suda had echoed the sentiments, reminding panellists that public confidence in the police service hinges on the fairness of recruitment.

“Vice Chairperson Prof. Collette Suda told the panels that Kenyans hold high expectations of the process and urged them to ensure that it is beyond reproach,” the statement read in part.

NPSC Chief Executive Officer Peter Leley also issued a stern warning to panel members, cautioning them against any form of malpractice.

Common police recruitment challenges

The briefing also outlined roles, responsibilities, and measures to address common challenges during the exercise, ensuring all panelists are fully equipped to deliver a transparent recruitment.
