More details have emerged about the woman who killed all her three children aged; one, six and 10 years before taking her own life on Friday, February 4.
According to police, Mollen Akinyi, 32, died leaving behind a suicide note which stated that she had been neglected by her husband who is a Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officer identified as Felix Omondi who is currently based in Mombasa.
K24 Digital has established that Akinyi was fond of complaining about how she was being treated by her husband as indicated in a suicide note she left behind.
According to neighbours, Akinyi poisoned her children last year but they saved them from the ordeal and took them to a safe house.
“How I wish when she poisoned them first we could have taken the minors from her, this could have saved their lives,” a neighbour who only identified himself as Kuria stated.
Another neighbour Jared Kinuthia said that they opted to solve the matter amicably after the three kids healed from the poison.
Kinuthia said that Akinyi told them she was depressed and would not repeat the mistake again.
“We agreed to forgive her and advised her to seek help whenever things seemed to go astray,” he said.
A police report seen by K24 Digital revealed that Akinyi was found hanging in her bedroom corridor.
“The body of one Mollen Akinyi, 32, was found hanging at the bedroom corridor from the rooftop of the house with a rope tied around her neck,” the report read in part.
The three minors named; Brandon Onyango, Trevor Omondi and Raddy Kesley were found dead with foam oozing from their mouth.
