A Ministry of Education conference at Kabarak Univesity on Monday ended prematurely after two food handlers tested positive for COVID-19.

Over 80 education officials and other stakeholders taking part in the conference were quarantined at the Kabarak Guest House awaiting tests.

In a statement, Kabarak University said that the two cases were recorded following regular mass-testing of staff in all its facilities.

“The county response team took the necessary steps to isolate the cases,” said Mr. Alex Kiprotich, late President Moi’s press secretary.

He added that the contacts have also been quarantined after tracing them.
