A man who hacked to death a suspected chicken thief in Shinyalu, Kakamega County has been arrested and is set to be charged with murder.
Mr Francis Muse Liseche was captured on video savagely hacking the suspected chicken thief with a machete in front of shocked onlookers.
“Mr Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi alias President who was captured on a viral video savagely cutting a man on allegations of stealing a chicken has been arrested by DCI Detectives from the HQs,” said Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday.
Police on Sunday said they have also arrested three others, including the owner of the alleged stolen chicken.
“The incident took place at Shinyalu in Kakamega and the victim died from the brutal cutting. We urge members of the public not to take the law into their own hands,” said DCI on their Twitter handle.
Police said the four suspects will be arraigned on Monday to face murder charges.
