The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has announced that it has nabbed a middle-aged man, a prime suspect in the gruesome murder of his wife.

According to the detectives, the man is in custody for beating his wife to death after he found her in a drunken stupor, at a chang’aa drinking den in Ugenya’s Jera village in Siaya County.

It is alleged the said man put her wife on a wheelbarrow and pushed her home, where she is reported to have developed complications and passed away during the night.

“The suspect is currently in custody at Siaya police station, being processed for arraignment to answer to murder charges,” a post by the DCI read.

Detectives believe that the prime suspect will divulge crucial information that will lead to the detectives revealing the reason behind such heinous acts.

The investigators have assured the kin of the slain woman that they will leave no stone unturned in the investigation of her murder.
