Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai’s mother Dorcas Kanini Mbai passes away

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai’s mother Dorcas Kanini Mbai has passed away.

Kanini died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, after being involved in a road accident at Kithimani along the Nairobi-Garissa Highway in Machakos County, according to a statement from the MP.

“With a heavy heart, I share the heartbreaking news that I have lost my beloved mother, Dorcas Kanini Mbai, in a tragic road accident at Kithimani along the Nairobi-Garissa Highway in Machakos County.God who gives, has taken away. Rest in peace, Mama. You were loved beyond words and will be deeply missed. May your soul find eternal peace. Go well, my dear Mum,” the MP stated.

Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka was among the first people to send their condolence message to the legislator.

“I am deeply saddened to learn the sudden death of Dorcas Mbithuka, mother to Hon. Nimrod Mbai, Member of Parliament for Kitui East, through road accident at Kithimani, along the busy Thika – Garissa highway. I take this moment to convey my utmost condolences to her family and the entire people of Kitui East,” Musyoka said.
