Two Kitengela brothers who are among the four lynched on a mistaken identity are set to be buried today as their families continue to pursue justice.

Victor Mwangi Wanjiru,25, and Fredrick Mureithi Wanjiru,30, will be buried in their rural home in Karamton, Nyandarua County.

This comes almost two weeks after the four were lynched by an angry mob on a mistaken identity on Sunday, August 8 in the early morning hours.

The four men who were on three Boda Bodas were mistaken to have been out on a mission to steal sheep and goats in one of the homesteads in Enkamuriaki village, Kajiado County.

However, further reports indicate that they had gone to Kitengela from their Syokimau home for a birthday party.

So far, the detectives have arrested the prime suspect linked with the killings.

The suspect, Benson Melonye Ole Mungai,40, was arrested on Monday, August 16, in the evening by the Kitengela director of criminal investigations(DCI) and was this afternoon arraigned at the Kajiado law courts.

Detectives sought to hold the suspect for 10 more days to allow further investigations, a plea that was granted by the resident magistrate Becky Cheloti.

Isinya sub-county police commander Charles Chepkong’a says that several other suspects have been profiled and detectives are pursuing them.

Chepkong’a says so far detectives have established that the four youthful men were not livestock thieves.

He says detectives have crucial leads that will lead to the arrest of other suspects.
