Kindiki slams opposition, rallies Mbeere North to back govt
Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has lashed out at the opposition, accusing its leaders of deceiving Kenyans with empty rhetoric despite having failed to deliver when they previously held government positions.
Speaking on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Kindiki said Kenyans should not be misled by leaders who squandered their chance to serve, only to rebrand themselves as champions of the people while offering no tangible solutions.
He was speaking in Rwika, Mbeere South, where he attended a meeting held in conjunction with a women’s gathering that brought together more than 3,000 women from the Mbeere North constituency.

The DP said the politics of rhetoric had no place in Kenya’s future, warning locals against falling prey to leaders whose records in government remained questionable.
“Opposition has nothing to offer. They have no roads, no schools, no hospitals, and no development to show. Let us focus on the government of the day because that is where development comes from,” Kindiki told the cheering crowd.
He reminded Kenyans that President William Ruto’s administration was working tirelessly to meet its campaign pledges, urging residents to support ongoing programs rather than embracing what he termed divisive politics.
By-elections
Turning to the upcoming Mbeere North parliamentary by-election, Prof. Kindiki drummed up support for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Leonard Muthende.
He advised Muthende to work closely with all leaders in the constituency, exuding confidence that UDA would secure victory and provide the people with strong, development-oriented representation.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku echoed the DP’s sentiments, accusing the opposition of engaging in what he described as politics of deceit and conmanship.

Ruku said such politics only enrich those pushing them, while ordinary citizens are left struggling without meaningful solutions to their daily challenges.
He urged Kenyans to ignore leaders who thrive on propaganda and instead focus their energy on supporting the government’s transformative agenda.
Embu governor Cecily Mbarire called on locals to ignore call to join opposition politics but instead support Kenya Kwanza Kwanza government for development.
