Kenyan youth have come together to organize yet another monumental protest that will see them head to Harambee House this Thursday, July 25, 2024.
In a poster shared by Activist Boniface Mwangi on his socials, the event, aptly named ‘Mashujaa Wetu’ will serve as a platform for the younger generation to voice their concerns and advocate for change in their beloved nation.
From the details, the Kenyan youth will be marching peacefully to Harambee House and present President William Ruto with a petition demanding justice for the protestors who died in the June 25, 2024 protests.
“On 25th July 2024, to mark one month since 25th June 2024, family members of the fallen heroes, and Kenyans of goodwill, will present a petition to the office of the president, at Harambee House to demand justice for our heroes, and then proceed to Parliament to lay flowers,” the poster read in part.
Further, it was shared that those who will be joining the march are expected to meet up at Kimathi Street starting from 11: 00 am.
With banners held high and voices raised in unison, the activists have requested the participants to carry a Kenyan flag, photos of those heroes who met their tragic deaths and flowers.
“We will present a petition to the office of the president, at Harambee House to demand justice for our heroes, and then proceed to Parliament to lay flowers,” Activist Boniface stated.

Occupy JKIA
The notice of the planned protests comes a day after protestors made their way to Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, for another demonstration.
Gen Z protesters had initially communicated that they would converge at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) but it was later learnt that it was all a decoy to occupy the CBD.
In a departure from previous protests that often resulted in violent clashes with police, the demonstrations in the Nairobi CBD were notably peaceful.
This shift in tone was evident as Nairobi Regional Commander Adamson Bungei addressed anti-government protesters along Moi Avenue.
Bungei, accompanied by senior and junior police officials, interacted with some of the demonstrators before returning to his patrol duties.
