Kenya Met forecasts showers, thunderstorms on Monday
The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has issued a weather forecast for Monday, 10th November 2025, warning of showers and thunderstorms over several parts of the country.
The alert covers the highlands, the Rift Valley, and the Lake Victoria Basin, while strong southeasterly winds are expected in the northern counties.

Residents in the highlands west of the Rift Valley, including Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Siaya, Homabay, Kericho, Nandi, Bomet, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Trans-Nzoia, and Narok, are likely to experience showers and thunderstorms tonight.
Rains are expected over a few places in the morning, with further showers and thunderstorms predicted in the afternoon.

In the highlands east of the Rift Valley, which include Nyeri, Muranga, Kirinyaga, Embu, Meru, Kiambu, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia, Nyandarua, and Nairobi, residents should prepare for scattered showers tonight.
Cloudy conditions are expected in the morning, giving way to sunny intervals, followed by afternoon showers over several places.

Northern counties are expected to have mostly sunny intervals throughout the day. Turkana and Samburu in the northwest and Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, and Isiolo in the northeast will experience partly cloudy conditions tonight, with strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) over parts of Turkana and Marsabit counties.
In the south-eastern lowlands, including Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta, and Kajiado, showers are expected over a few places tonight and tomorrow morning, with further scattered showers in the afternoon.
Coastal counties, including Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River, are expected to have partly cloudy conditions tonight, sunny intervals in the morning, and scattered showers in the afternoon.
City-specific forecasts indicate maximum temperatures of 25°C in Nairobi, 28°C in Kisumu, and 36°C in Mandera.
Meanwhile, sunrise and sunset times remain consistent across the country, with Mombasa seeing sunrise at 6:19 am and sunset at 6:40 pm, while Nairobi will have sunrise at 6:30 ama nd sunset at 6:49 p.m.
