Political activist and INJECT Party leader Morara Kebaso has ruled out forming coalitions with influential politicians, stating that his party will prioritize integrity over political expediency in the 2027 General Election.
In a statement shared on his X account on Saturday, January 18, 2025, Kebaso criticized the notion of aligning with powerful individuals, including those perceived as corrupt, solely to unseat President William Ruto.
“Some people are saying that we should form a coalition with anyone who is influential, including corrupt individuals, for the sole purpose of defeating William Ruto. We strongly disagree,” Kebaso declared.
The INJECT Party leader emphasized that his party is guided by values and is determined to take integrity to the ballot. According to him, the electorate should have the opportunity to choose whether they value integrity in leadership.
“Let us take integrity to the ballot and allow Kenyans to decide if they want it or not,” he urged.
Kebaso also dismissed the idea of settling for problematic leaders as a compromise, challenging the commonly used phrase, ‘better the devil you know’.
“The politics of ‘better the devil you know’ belongs in the bins. We don’t want any devil, whether we know that devil or not,” he stated.

Kebaso on tribal politics
In December 2024, Kebaso vowed to rally Kenya’s Gen Z against tribal-based politics, advocating for inclusive and accountable leadership.
In a statement shared on his X account on Monday, December 9, 2024, Kebaso criticized political alliances rooted in tribal affiliations, arguing that they foster ethnic exclusion and obstruct national development. He called on the youth to oppose leaders who exploit tribal identities to avoid scrutiny.
“I will lead the Gen Zs towards rejecting any political formation that is organized on the foundation of a tribe or coalition of tribes. We are tired of political parties that glorify ethnic exclusion,” Morara stated.
He further condemned leaders who weaponize tribalism to shield themselves from criticism, branding them as obstacles to progress.
“Any leader escaping accountability on the basis that his or her tribe is being targeted is our enemy. Hatutakubali. Wasahau kabisa,” he emphasized.
