The National Police Service (NPS) on Sunday put to rest a report that a junior police officer pickpocketed his boss during the arrest of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Friday.
This is after a video clip was shared online highlighting what appears to be a junior officer stealing a gadget from his senior.
“The officer in charge of Traffic Voi has confirmed that he was not pick pocketed. Equally, the police command in Voi has confirmed that the officer in question is disciplined and of high integrity,” said the NPS in a statement published on its social media pages.
From the video, the senior officer reacted as if he felt someone had accessed his pocket, but wasn’t really sure if that was the case.
He looked around for a few seconds, and continued focusing on the drama that unfolded as Sonko resisted arrest at the Ikanga airstrip.
