The family of Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali on Sunday escaped unharmed after their car collided with a matatu on the Kapsabet-Mau Summit road.

Mr Shinali’s son and daughter were travelling to Nairobi after burial of their brother, Chris Masakah, who died in Arizona, US, while trying to rescue a boy from drowning in a swimming pool.

The MP’s children were travelling with five friends who had attended their brother’s funeral.

The two were taken to Lessos Hospital and were released after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

The MP’s driver told K24 Digital that Mr Shinali was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Mr Shinali had been left behind at their Lirhembe village.
