Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has announced job opportunities for National Youth Service (NYS) male graduates interested in working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement on his official X account on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Mwaura invited interested and qualified NYS graduates to apply for the job openings offered by an unnamed UAE-based company.
In addition, the government spokesperson said that the metal fabricators/welders opportunities in the UAE was organized through a registered Kenyan manpower outsourcing company.
The job openings announced offers a basic salary of 1450 AED which is equivalent to Ksh50,930.74 plus 350 AED food allowance (Ksh12,293.63).
“Jobs majuu alert! Exciting job opportunity for National Youth Service graduates in UAE. We’re thrilled to announce job openings for metal fabricators/welders in UAE organized through a registered Kenyan manpower outsourcing company,” Mwaura announced.
Qualifications and requirements
Applicants will need to be trade qualified as either a welder or metal fabricator. If you are not qualified, but can work at a tradesman’s level, you will need a recent and comprehensive work history, working as a fabricator/welder.
Also needed is an updated metal fabricator CV, diploma/trade certificate in welding and fabrication or a prior learning certificate with 2-3 years of experience pre/post-study.
Applicants must also be proficient in operating fabrication equipment such as grinders, presses, and drills and familiar with various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding. They must also be capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings and standards, with a keen focus on detail and quality.
How to apply
Mwaura provided a link where all qualified graduates would send their application adding that successful candidates will be subjected to practical interviews on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Nairobi.
“Practical interviews are scheduled for Friday, November 8, 2024, in Nairobi. Candidates who meet the job qualifications will receive further information regarding the specific location and time of the Interviews,” he announced.
Jobs abroad
This is not the first time the government is hooking up Kenyans with jobs abroad. On October 24, 2024, the Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua announced the commencement of three-day interviews for several job opportunities in Qatar.
In a statement on his official X account, Mutua invited interested and qualified Kenyans to apply for various job vacancies in the hospitality and construction industries offered by an unnamed Qatari company in collaboration with his ministry.
“A Qatari company, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, is in Nairobi conducting interviews for various job opportunities over the next two days,” Mutua announced
