Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok elicited murmurs in the August House on Tuesday, February 1 after he arrived for the day’s sitting dressed in a black suit.

Sankok who was nominated to Parliament on a Persons With Disability (PWD) ticket has always dressed in a trademark green suit fully striped on the collars with the other three colours of the national flag.

“There is a lot of excitement here today and I suspect it has to do with today’s unusual attired by the honourable Sankok,” Speaker Justin Muturi said during the proceedings to constitute House Business Committee.

“Obviously he is exceptionally smart. Or rather unusually smart,” Muturi said before affirming that the nominated MP was, “exceptionally smart after fellow MPs joined in the banter.”

During the Tuesday proceedings, MPs voted unanimously to approve the reconstitution of the House Business Committee which almost disrupt Parliamentary operations after the lawmakers failed to reach a common stand earlier on.

In the committee chaired by Speaker Muturi, MPs Mishi Mboko (Likoni) and Godfrey Osotsi (Nominated), Joyce Emanikor (Turkana Woman Rep), Shadrack John Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Kawira Mwangaza (Meru Woman Rep), Mohamed Abdikhaim Osman (Fafi)and Makali Mulu (Kitui Central) were chosen as the members.

The committee also has Majority leader Amos Kimunya, Minority Leader John Mbadi, Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe and Minority Whip Junet Mohamed as members.
