Esther Passaris demands accountability after teen’s death at club

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris is demanding justice and accountability following the tragic death of 17-year-old dancer and influencer Wilberforce Kisia, who was beaten to death at the VVIP Rooftop Club.
In a statement posted on her X account on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Passaris expressed her outrage at the brutality of the crime and the failure of the club to protect the young performer.
She described Kisia as a talented, vibrant teenager whose life was taken too soon, highlighting the devastating impact on his family.
“No words can comfort a mother who has lost her child so brutally. Wilberforce Kisia was only 17, full of life, hope, and talent. That he was allegedly killed by those meant to ensure safety is devastating. That the videos of him were deleted is disturbing. The club is culpable. There was a duty of care. They failed. This is tragic. This is unacceptable,” Passaris stated.

Kisia’s last moments
The young dancer had left his home in Kangemi on Sunday, eager to perform at the popular nightclub, unaware that the night would be his last. His family grew increasingly concerned when he stopped answering calls, and by Tuesday, May 14, 2025, they had no updates on his whereabouts.
Kennedy Ambani, Wilberforce’s brother, recalled the last conversation he had with him before he left for the club.
“The last time I saw him was Sunday. He said, ‘I’ll be back Monday morning.’ But by Tuesday, there was no word… nothing. They hadn’t posted him on their club social… That’s when I knew something was wrong,” Kennedy said.
In the days that followed, the family reached out to friends, contacted the club, and checked social media for any sign of Wilberforce. As they searched for answers, they noticed something troubling: videos featuring him were disappearing from the club’s social media pages.
Kennedy said he called the club’s cameraman, who simply told him, “If it’s about Kisia, go ask the management.”
