Dry spell will continue in most parts of the country for the next seven days, the Kenya Meteorological Department has forecasted.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the weatherman says only a few parts of the country in the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Coast will experience showers between September 17 and 23, 2024.
“Most parts of the country will be sunny and dry. However, expect rainfall in parts of the Central Highlands, Western Kenya, the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and Coast,” the weatherman forecasted.
Daytime temperatures are expected to hit a high of over 30°C for South Rift Valley, Coast, South-eastern lowlands, Western, North-eastern, and North-western Kenya.
Weatherman predicts chilly nights
In contrast, Kenyans should expect chilly nights in the next one week with temperatures expected to fall below 10°C in some areas of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and South-eastern lowlands.
“High average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in some parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the South Rift Valley, Coast, the South-eastern lowlands, North-eastern and North-western Kenya,” the met department says.
“Average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be low (less than 10°C) over some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and the South-eastern lowlands.”
